How to find the paint code for your Genesis
Taking a leaf out of the Hyundai book, Genesis has made finding the paint codes simple and straightforward. Regardless of whether you drive a GV70, GV80, or even a G90, your paint code will be in one of two places.
- Go to the driver’s side door and check in the area that joined the door to the frame, known as the door jamb. It will almost always be here.
- If it isn’t above, check-in the engine compartment. You can find it either on the firewall or the core support.
The code will always be on the VIN tag. If for any reason the label isn’t in the places above:

Find your Genesis paint code on the VIN sticker
The manufacturer’s tag on most vehicles is either black with white writing or grey/white with dark text. There is a lot of other information there. But to find the paint code, look for the “PAINT” heading near the top of the tag.
It doesn’t matter whether you own a Genesis G80, G70, or GV70. The paint codes will be the same. Genesis paint codes are usually two or three characters long and don’t contain numbers.

The color code above represents Monaco White. Other examples include Phantom Black Pearl illustrated by AF and Tsukuba Red represented by NGA.
Genesis Trivia
Genesis Motor, or simply Genesis, is the luxury arm of the Korea manufacturer Hyundai. Since 2015 it has operated as an independent brand away from the Hyundai marque, doing incredibly well ever since, despite being a relative newcomer to the game.
The company has taken aim at Mercedes and hope to be their answer to luxury cars and knock them off the top spot. As well as sponsoring the NFL, the car giant also has its own golf tournament. In line with the luxury branding, Genesis takes the effort away from a car purchase by offering a delivery right to your doorstep. Talk about easy!
