How to find the paint code for a Nissan
Nissan’s range of reliable models that include the Radiant Silver Metallic Nissan Altima and GT-R have been around for a long time. Throughout the various iteration of its multiple models, Nissan has opted to put their paint codes in different places. Below you’ll find a list of sites, but depending on the model and year, it could be in a different location. Make sure to:

- Look in the passenger and driver’s side door jamb
- Check on the vehicles firewall which you will find under the hood
- While your there look on the Nissan’s core support column
- Take a look on the door pillars either side of the vehicle
At times the VIN tag, which holds of the details about the vehicle, including the paint code, won’t be in the car. If this is the case for you, call our expert staff on 971-770-2372 , and they will be able to help you identify your color codes regardless of whether you have a 350z or a Maxima. Our team is on hand from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm PST. For out of hours contact, please send us an email at CustomerService@ERAPaints.com.
How to understand your Nissan paint code

The paint codes that Nissan provides are usually three digits in length and contact both numbers and letters.
Example: KH3
The code above represents KH3 Black Obsidian, one of Nissan’s most popular colors. Other paint codes include KAD Gun Metallic.
VIN tags on models like the Sentra contain a lot of information, so it may not be apparent where to look initially. Nissan paint codes are often found on the bottom of the VIN sticker under the headline “COLOR.” You won’t find the color description Radiant Silver Metallic. Instead, it will just be the code K12.
Nissan Trivia and History
Founded in 1933 in Yokohama, Japan, Nissan has grown to be one of the biggest car brands in the world and is currently the largest electric vehicle manufacturer in the world. Their classic Radiant Silver Metallic Sentra model has recently received an upgrade and will shortly be added to their electric line of vehicles.
For decades, their Altima model in Black Obsidian has been a top pick among those seeking reliability at an affordable cost. Of course, those seeking a bit more of a thrill tend to lean towards the high-performance Nissan GT-R.
